We don’t do that. At Growing Smiles, a root canal is a single 60–90 minute visit, performed with rotary endodontic files (nickel-titanium, computer-calibrated), assisted by a 2940nm Er:YAG laser that sterilizes the canal from the inside out.

The laser excels at severe cases. Its 2940nm wavelength is absorbed by water and inflamed tissue, which means it selectively targets exactly what needs to be removed — including abscesses that conventional files can’t reach. You’ll leave with the infection actually gone, not just managed.
With proper restoration (usually a crown), a laser-treated root canal can last a lifetime. Our success rate at 5-year follow-up is 98% — slightly higher than the conventional approach, thanks to the more thorough disinfection the laser provides.
